Steps

Update forum status to active

1. Go into the Forums module.

2. Click on Chapter Forums and select a view for Inactive Chapter Forums.

3. Locate the forum you need to reinstate. Click on the blue hyperlinked forum name.

4. Click Edit on the top right.

5. Edit the following fields:

  • End date: Delete date so the field is blank.

  • Status: Update from Dissolved to Active.

Reinstate forum membership

Now that the forum is active, you can reinstate the members in the forum.

6. On the forum account page that you just made active, click on the Related tab.

7. On Account Affiliations, you will see the list of former forum members. To see all people previously affiliated with the forum, click View All.

8. To add the people back to the forum, click on Account Affiliation ID. In the pop-up, update the following:

  • End Date = blank (remove any previous end date)

  • Is Active = Check box.

  • Reason for Leaving = blank (remove previous information)

  • Reason Leaving Other = blank (remove previous information)

Click Save.

Repeat step 8 for all people needing to be reinstated to the forum.

Add forum moderator

9. Navigate back to the Chapter Forums > Active Chapter forums.

10. Locate the newly activated forum, and in the actions select Add Forum Moderator. Reference this article for further assistance.

Things to know

  • If the forum membership changed after the forum dissolved, it will be easier to create a new forum rather than reinstating a dissolved forum.
