Usage

Videos help make your website more engaging. Add speaker intros, event highlights, or instructional clips. Canva supports embedding YouTube links or inserting videos you’ve created in Canva.

Steps

Add a YouTube video

1. Open your Canva website design - mainly website
2. Click Apps (AI Marketplace) in the left panel.
3. Search for YouTube or you can search for Embed
4. Paste your YouTube video link.
5. Click Add to embed it on the page.
6. Resize or reposition the video frame.

Note: Similar to youtube video, you can also add public view link (video) when you select embed app.

TIP: YouTube videos only play when the published site is viewed, not inside the editor.


Things to know

  • YouTube videos will not autoplay on most browsers

  • Large video files may take longer to load on mobile

  • YouTube embeds show ads unless you use YouTube Premium


Best Practices

  • Place key videos near the top of the page

  • Keep video dimensions consistent across sections

  • Use short videos for better load times
