Cvent: Adding Registration Questions

Steps to add questions or fields on your Cvent event registration form

Usage

The steps below explain how to add registration questions, which allow event organizers to capture additional information from the registrant, such as dietary restrictions, clothing sizes, and more

Steps

Access Site Designer

1. Select Website from the left-side navigation, then click the blue Open Site Designer button, from which you’ll be able to edit any of the website pages



Access Personal Information registration page

2. From the Summary drop-down menu, use the scroll bar to scroll down to Registration Paths and click on the Personal Information option

Add a new widget

3. Scroll down just above the Cancellation Policy. Hover over the section and click the add (+) button to open the Build options

4. You have the option to scroll through the various widget options or use the search toolbar to filter the results you’re looking for of which there are two options

Adding Dietary Restrictions

5a. Option 1: Allows the registrant to stipulate allergies or dietary restrictions via the text box, i.e. Gluten, Wheat, etc.

5b. Option 2: Allows the registrant to stipulate dietary requirements from a picklist, i.e. Halaal, Vegan, etc.

Adding more questions/widgets

6. Use the scroll bar to view the different widget options suitable for your registration needs

7. To add the widget, simply click on the option that best suits your event needs

Customize Your Widget

8. Once you’ve added your widget, you have the option to customize the heading and whether the field is required or optional

Save and Publish Your Changes

9. Don’t forget to Save your changes at the top right of the screen. This will save your current draft of the Personal Information page but will not make the changes visible to your members. Next, click Publish to make the changes visible to members on your event’s website

10. This saves your changes made to the registration page


Guest Registration Questions

11. If you need to collect the same information for guests, make sure to repeat this process. From the left-hand navigation menu, scroll to Other Pages and under add a Guest repeat the process adding the same questions. Registration questions for guests are managed separately from those for members
