Usage

Only Chapter Events created with 2025 templates or later can be copied. COR events (Chapter Open to Region) must not be copied until the RD approves the event, submit the Chapter Event Creation Form (MRF) and wait for confirmation from the CRCM before copying. Copying a COR event early will result in event closure, removal of CM permissions to copy future events, and a requirement to continue submitting requests via Smartsheet.

Events may only be copied within your user group. Global or Network events must not be copied.

2024 Chapter Events are not eligible to prevent errors. An MRF is still required for every event, even when copying

Best Practices

Before copying an event, please review the Copy Events Guidelines to ensure compliance with YPO Chapter Events policies.

What You’ll Need

Have the Event Code of the original event you want to copy ready.

Steps

Submit the MRF

1. Submit the MRF. Click here to learn how to Fill Out the Chapter Event Creation Form (MRF)

Access your Event in Cvent

2. After submitting the MRF, you will receive a confirmation email with the Event Code and a link to access your event. Alternatively, you can find the event name in your Cvent events list.

Set Up your Event and click Copy Event

3. Open your event, click any of the Set-Up Event buttons, and then select Copy Event.

Enter the Original Event Code

4. Type the event code of the original event you want to copy; press Enter on your keyboard and select the event.

Enter the Event Planner Information, Event Format and Create your Event

5. Confirm that the Event Planner details and Event Format are correct. Review the information to ensure nothing is missing. The Basic Information on this form is automatically populated from the details you entered in the Event Creation Form (MRF).
Scroll Down and Create your Event

Note: Avoid copying COR events (Chapter Open to Region) unless the event has a complex structure that truly requires it. It is imperative not to copy COR events until the Regional Director (RD) has approved the event and your CRCM has confirmed approval and given you permission to proceed.

If a COR event is copied and opened for registration before RD approval is confirmed by the CRCM, the event will be closed, and the CM’s permission to copy future events will be removed.

Please plan ahead, as the approval process may take several days.
