Canva: How to Group Elements in Canva

Group and ungroup multiple design elements in Canva to make editing easier and more efficient

Usage

Use this feature to group elements together so they can be moved, resized, or edited as a single unit. This is helpful when arranging complex designs or keeping elements aligned

Steps

Select the Elements You Want to Group

1. On Desktop:
Hold down the Shift key and click on each element you want to group.

On Mobile:
Tap and hold an element until a menu appears, then tap Select Multiple. Tap additional elements to include them in the selection.

Group the Selected Elements

2. On Desktop:

  • Once selected, a floating toolbar will appear, click the Group button.

  • Alternatively, right-click one of the selected elements and choose Group from the context menu.

On Mobile:
After selecting your elements, tap the Group button in the floating toolbar.

How to ungroup Elements (if needed)

3. On Desktop:
Right-click on the grouped elements and select Ungroup.

On Mobile:
Tap on the grouped elements, then tap Ungroup on the floating toolbar.
